Manager, Business Procurement Assistance Center
Denise is Program Manager for the
Business Procurement Assistance Center. She joined the Center as a
Government Contract Specialist in 1997 with 16 years of business
experience in manufacturing, aerospace engineering, government contracting
and management. Her private sector experience also includes positions
with United Technologies, Hamilton Sunstrand located in Windsor Locks,
Connecticut. Denise was responsible for proposal preparation,
manufacturing systems design, government contract compliance. She was
involved in numerous government projects, including NASA’s Waste
Collection System, Space Station Freedom and Department of Defense
classified programs.
Education
Denise graduated from
the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a Bachelor of Science in
Industrial Engineering in 1986, receiving an academic scholarship from the
Institute of Industrial Engineers. She is currently working toward her
Masters in Business Administration.
Denise is successful
in winning a competitive grant from the Department of Defense to assist
Wisconsin businesses. She leads the Business Procurement Assistance
Center, which provides free technical and marketing assistance to
Wisconsin businesses interested in selling their products and services to
the government. The Center’s mission is to provide businesses with the
necessary tools to compete in the government market. Denise is
responsible for serving 1,000 Wisconsin businesses annually and was
responsible for assisting Wisconsin businesses win $205.5 million last
year alone.
Denise has developed
a series of business training sessions, offered through out the State of
Wisconsin, geared to business expansion and produces a quarterly
newsletter, distributed on a national level, which highlights current
trends and initiatives in government contracting.
In addition, Denise
focuses her efforts on small businesses, woman-owned businesses,
minority-owned businesses, service-disabled veteran owned businesses and
other historically underutilized businesses. Large prime contractors look
to her to locate small business suppliers.
