Die Coating and Surface Treatments 

Chapter 12 is offering the following new course.  This course will be held in the at Klemmers Banquet Center in the Federal Room.  The classes will start at 8:30AM, finish approximately 3:30 PM. 

A one-day course focused on the fundamental principles of coatings and surface treatments for die casting dies as well as repair and removal techniques.  This course is designed to provide a basic understanding of various coatings applicable to die components by covering topical areas such as coating processes, structure, properties, application, and characterization and evaluation of coatings.  Current state-of-the-art commercial and experimental coatings are presented and methods for optimizing coating architecture are addressed.  

This course will be presented by Prof. John J. Moore, of the Advanced Coating and Surface Treatment Laboratory, Colorado School of Mines, at Golden, Colorado. 

The cost of this class is $195.  The cost includes a continental breakfast, lunch and all materials.  If you attended any of the Process Control mini-courses this year, your cost will be $150.   

This course is targeted to all persons responsible for tooling, toolmaker to the DC engineer.  This course should help in identifying coating candidates to solve die casting problems.
